2 C cooked soybeans (1 C dry)
2-3 T barbecue sauce (you can substitute ketchup mixed with hot sauce)
1-1/2 C dry bread crumbs or matzo meal
1 T salt
Black pepper to taste
Small slices of onion
1/4 C vegetable oil
Mash soybeans with a potato masher and combine with barbecue sauce, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Form into patties around the small slices of onion. Fry in vegetable oil until browned on both sides. Serve on buns, with cheese and hamburger fixings.
