A tasty frosting for spice cake, or an alternative to cream cheese frosting on a carrot cake.
1/2 C butter
4 C sifted powdered sugar
5-6 T half and half
1/2 t maple flavoring
Over low heat, brown the butter, being careful not to burn it. Place sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat in the butter and enough half and half to make a spreading consistency. Add the maple flavoring and beat until smooth.
