1-1/2 C flour
3/4 C cocoa
1/4 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 C sugar
3/4 C butter (1-1/2 sticks), at room temperature
3 T milk
1 t vanilla
1-1/2 C Nutella, at room temperature
In a food processor, combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, and sugar and blend for a few seconds. Cut the butter into about a dozen small pieces and blend them in. Turn the motor on and add the milk and vanilla, pulsing just until the dough forms a solid clump.
Turn the dough onto a flat surface and knead it a couple of times. Then divide it in half and make two logs, about 8 inches long. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
When it’s time to bake, slice the logs into thin rounds and place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper, about an inch apart. Bake 12 to 14 minutes, then cool completely.
When they are cool, spread half of them with Nutella and top with a second cookie.
