A non-alcoholic alternative to hot buttered rum.
3 C water
3/4 C fresh lemon juice
2/3 C sugar
1-1/2 t grated lemon peel
1 T butter
Cinnamon sticks
Simmer water, lemon juice, sugar, and lemon peel until sugar is dissolved. Serve in mugs with a pat of butter on top and a cinnamon stick in each.
