Pecan Pie Squares

2 C flour
2/3 C confectioners sugar
3/4 C butter (softened)
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1/2 t salt
1/2 C honey
2/3 C butter
3 T whipping cream
3-1/2 C pecans, coarsely chopped

Grease a 9×12-inch baking pan. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Stir the flour and powdered sugar together. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pat this in the bottom and up the sides of the baking pan.

Bake for about 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Allow it to cool before filling.

In a medium sauce pan, combine the brown sugar, salt, honey, remaining butter, and whipping cream. Heat over medium-high, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the pecans.

Pour the filling over the crust and bake for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly. Allow it to cool completely before cutting into squares.
