Cream 1/2 c. butter and 1/4 c. sugar
Beat in well 1 egg;
Combine 1 1/4 c. flour and 1/8 t. salt
Add dry ingredients in about 3 parts to butter mixture blending well. Work in
1/2 t. vanilla
Spread dough with hands in a 9 x 12 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 min.
On pastry base, spread the following mixture:
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. grated coconut
1 c. chopped pecan meats
2 T. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
Bake at 350 for 25 min. When cool, spread with:
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar thinned to a spreading consistency with lemon juice.
