Simplest Coconut Macaroons

3 egg whites
1/2 C sugar
1/4 t salt
14 oz package flaked coconut

Preheat oven to 350. Whisk the egg whites together with the salt and sugar. Stir in the coconut. Drop by teaspoons onto a well-greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 25 minutes, until they are slightly golden.

Optional: You can add chopped dried apricots or pineapple, slivered almonds, toasted pine nuts, or miniature chocolate chips to these.
