Spicy peanut sauce with cream cheese

A rich, creamy sauce for just about anything — pasta, rice, cooked vegetables, potatoes or sweet potatoes, chicken, shrimp, or any combination of the above. Adapted from a November 2010 Better Homes and Gardens recipe entitled “Spicy Pasta with Sweet Potatoes.”

1/3 C unsweetened peanut butter
3 oz cream cheese, cut into cubes
1 to 3 t Sriracha chili sauce
1 T tamari sauce
3/4 to 1 C hot water
1 large clove garlic, minced
6 green onions, sliced

In a saucepan, combine the peanut butter, cream cheese, chili sauce, and tamari. Mix in the hot water and cook over medium heat until warmed through. Stir in the garlic and green onions.
