Stovetop Granola

Whisk together:
1/2 C oil
1/4 C honey
1 T vanilla
1/2 to 1 C brown sugar (optional)

Combine the following dry ingredients in a large bowl:
4 C rolled oats
1 C sunflower seeds
1/2 c sliced almonds
1/2 C cashew pieces
1/4 C shredded coconut
1/2 C wheat germ
2 T nonfat dried milk

Stir the wet and dry ingredients together and put into a large, heavy ungreased skillet over low heat. Slowly brown it on one side, then flip it over and brown it on the other side. Break up and store in tightly sealed containers.

Here’s an alternative version:
2 C quick oats
1/2 C wheat germ, oat bran, or nuts
1/2 C brown sugar or honey
1/4 C margarine
1/2 C shredded coconut
1/2 C raisins
1/2 t cinnamon
Combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes. Allow to cool and store in tightly sealed containers.
